Monday mornings are my nemesis! I am usually so tired from my Saturday night to be productive during the day on Sunday, which leaves me scrambing on Sunday night to prepare for Monday - eek! But, since we've been following our weekly cleaning schedule my house was clean and organized and I didn't feel stressed to get everything done... which was a good thing because a crazy bachelorette party on Saturday left me "hangin" on Sunday. I slept all day and woke on Monday ready to go (which is still shocking to me). On that note, here's a progress report on my first 2 weeks of 2010's resolutions:
Well, I missed the mark on my Blog promise (my best friend made sure to tell me that I let her down by not blogging)- gotta love friends that tell ya like it is!! Anyway - of all my resolutions, this one was hardest. I usually blog on my lunch hour at work because the thought of going home and sitting at my computer for another hour or more makes me want to jump off a bridge. But last week I was super busy and ended up working thru many lunches so I apologize for missing my blog mark. As a result, I think I am going to change from once a week to twice a month... and go from there. (and yes, this counts as #1 for those of you counting!!) kidding.
New recipe- I broke out the crock pot last week and made beef stew. It was amazing. I've made it before but this one was different because the recipe said to sear the beef first and then make the sauce base with the pan juice. I did it at about 8:30pm the night before and when Anthony walked in from a Blackhawks game he was like, what did you make?! The sauce was very good, much richer than and beefer than I expected. Instead of potatoes, I used whole wheat egg noodles which were pretty good with the sauce. If you're interested in the recipe, email me. This week I am going to try Giada's Roman chicken.
The exercise routine is more difficult to plan for each week than I thought because things come up so I set a goal at 3 times a week and its doable. The best thing is I don't hate it! And its entertaining - I love watching the cougars trolling thru the gym with their faces freshly painted...! So far I've been a cardio girl. The classes aren't working out with my schedule and I need to get up enought nerve to ask to leave 15 min early from work to make the classes. I hate always being the late one in class. All thats left are 10lb weights and the only spot left is up in front by the mirror. Ya, thats what my self esteem needs... to be in close proximity to a mirror! My friend loves swimming laps so I am going to try and join her at least once a week too but I've gotta get the necessities first (a gym bathing suit...don't think the health club pool is a place for the tankini).
The organizing is underway but I fear its a never ending venture. I've been on shredding for a while now... we burned out so many home shredders I vowed never to buy another one so I bring my stuff in to work to shred. We've got lots and its annoying but its better than identity theft or filing all this crap. We're supposed to start work on our basement but my Christmas decorations are still up so I think that has to come first, otherwise it will be Easter before I get the tree down. So far though, the weekly cleaning schedule has been the biggest success and help. We didn't need to do any cleaning this weekend becuase we kept up with it all week. Laundy is still another story but one step at a time I say.
This weeks organizing goal is pictures. I need to get all my photos from the last few months downloaded. I've promised someone special that I'd get some pictures to her so I've got to make some time and sit at my dreaded home computer and get it done!
Thats all for now...
